Summertime in the mountains is pure magic: warm days spent hiking, biking, and playing in the lakes and rivers - cool nights spent relaxing by an outdoor fire. We can hardly wait! Especially, as life in Telluride gets closer to "normal" every day.

In case you are wondering about getting to and staying in Telluride this summer, I've answered some frequently asked questions for you below.

 frequently asked questions

IS TELLURIDE OPEN?

Well, we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! COVID cases have dropped significantly in our county, and every day seems to creep a little bit closer to pre-pandemic life. While we're still under restrictions and seeing some event cancellations, Summer 2021 is gearing up to be a big step toward getting back to "normal." For those who aren't comfortable dining indoors or gathering for festivals and concerts, Telluride still has what will always keep us mentally and physically healthy: nature.

Currently, Level Blue Orders for Telluride & San Miguel County include:

  • Retail & Personal Service Businesses: Up to 75% capacity

  • Restaurants: 6 feet distance between parties, up to 100% capacity

  • Bars: 6 feet distance between parties, up to 25% capacity

  • Lodging: Up to 85% occupancy

Telluride Festivals

ARE THERE ANY FESTIVALS AND EVENTS HAPPENING THIS SUMMER?

Mountainfilm
Happily, Mountainfilm will be returning for a small, in-person gathering in Telluride from May 28 - 31. Additionally, it will keep the virtual spirit going from May 31 - June 6! Buy your pass HERE.

Telluride Bluegrass Festival
Bluegrass is back! Festivarians will enjoy a smaller, socially distant festival spanning two weekends: June 11 - 13 & 17 - 20. So far, all tickets have been promised to rollover ticket holders from the canceled 2020 festival, so it isn't certain if they will be released to the general public.

Telluride Yoga Festival
A favorite among yogis, the Yoga Festival will take place June 24 - 27 with limited class sizes in outdoor tented or open spaces. Purchase passes HERE.

The Ride Festival
They are pushing forward with a new format, to include 7 venues and 10 days of music July 2 - 11. Ticket holders can attend for 1 weekend, 2 weekends, or 10 straight days! Learn more HERE.

Unfortunately, it has already been announced that the 4th of July Parade & Fireworks are canceled for 2021.

The fate of a few still remains to-be-determined: Telluride Jazz Festival, Telluride Film Festival & Telluride Blues & Brews Festival. Keep up-to-date on their status HERE.

Telluride Summer Vacation Rentals

ARE VACATION RENTALS ALREADY BOOKED UP?

We can help you book a summer rental and are happy to help answer any questions you may have about your upcoming visit. We encourage you to book early, as we anticipate the summer to be busier than usual and units are booking fast. As with last year, the caveat still exists that it may need to be canceled or postponed to comply with any new county health orders.

Telluride Flights

WHAT WILL FLIGHT SERVICE INTO MONTROSE/TELLURIDE BE LIKE?

The Montrose/Telluride non-stop flight schedule will continue to evolve throughout the summer. New to the carrier lineup, Southwest will be offering flights from Dallas & Denver. There will also be daily flights from Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, and multiple daily flights from Dallas and Denver into Montrose & Telluride. Get more info and see the schedule HERE.

IS THE REAL ESTATE MARKET STILL HOT?

YES! The Telluride Real Estate Market continues to experience record breaking sales through the 1st Quarter of 2021, with San Miguel County's sales dollar volume up 136% over the 5-year average (Read Telluride Properties 2021 1st quarter market report here). With inventory at all-time lows, it has never been more important to stay on top of the market. My website can email you alerts for new listings, price reductions, and more. Tom Cruise Telluride Home for Sale

DID TOM CRUISE SELL HIS HOUSE?
IS MOUNTAIN VILLAGE GETTING A FOUR SEASONS HOTEL?

You've undoubtedly seen that Tom Cruise's Telluride home was brought to the market back in December, asking $39.5M. And, yes, his home is currently under contract. It's very compelling for Telluride and for other owners who have heavily invested in the lifestyle here, that they too will see appreciation.

Recently, a notable pair of developers signed a contract to develop a Four Seasons Hotel in Mountain Village. It will take some time to clear due diligence and become fully entitled in order to break ground, but this is very exciting news. This added inventory along with the Hotel Colorado in town and a handful of other new projects promise to aid the inventory shortage.

I cannot wait to see you in Telluride this summer!
